A nor’easter brings heavy snow and strong winds

As a large nor’easter continues to roll through New Hampshire, parts of New Hampshire are seeing nearly three feet of snow. A winter storm warning is in effect for all of New Hampshire except Goose County, where a winter weather advisory has been issued.>> WEATHER WARNINGS Heavy snow and cold rain fell near the coast early Tuesday morning. A few isolated locations in higher elevations have already exceeded 18 inches of accumulation. Winds picked up along the coast Tuesday afternoon, with gusts as high as 40 miles per hour. Wind gusts up to 30 mph are possible inland.

Although major coastal flooding is not expected, some splashing and minor beach erosion is possible at high tide Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning high tide — 5:09 PM Tuesday and 5:23 PM Wednesday in Hampton Beach.

Some NH cities are postponing Tuesday elections due to the winter storm

As the storm begins to move away Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning, snow intensity will decrease.

Looking ahead

More pleasant weather will take us through Thursday with some sunshine in the 40s.
