Deputies found Renner injured and coordinated his transport to an area hospital, the sheriff’s office said in a news release, adding that the actor was the only person involved in the crash.

The Sheriff’s Office did not release details on how the snow plow accident happened, but said its Major Accident Investigation Team is looking into the circumstances of the incident. A press conference from the sheriff’s office is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.

Reno Mayor Hilary Scheeve told the Reno Gazette Journal Renner was helping a stranded motorist when the crash happened on Monday.

“He was helping someone who was stuck in the snow,” said Schieve, who is friends with Renner. “He’s always helping others.”
