Update: Meteorologist Alyssa Carlson Schwartz posted on her Facebook page this afternoon. “Thank you for all the texts, calls and well wishes. I’ll be fine!” She did not give further details.
Earlier: KCAL meteorologist Alyssa Carlson Schwartz fainted during a live TV broadcast Saturday morning.
Schwartz was delivering the weather as part of the 7 AM updates when he was struck. She leaned forward, lost consciousness, and collapsed on the desk before she could begin her statement.
There was a brief delay before the show cut to a commercial. There has been no update on Carlson’s health since then.
Carlson, a former Mrs. America contestant, has a heart condition. In 2014, he vomited on set during a weather report at another station. Follow-up tests revealed a leaky heart valve.
